Saber visited Orchard Central shopping center, Singapore for our 4th round of Christmas shoot this year. The setup was one of the best around and lots of things to shoot. They have so much LEDs around that we just can stop ourselves to get bokehnicous ^_^|||

Christmas is coming again and time for X'mas shoot. With DD Saber joined our shooting gang. This year Christmas shooting will being with her (No worries, Mia will have hers soon ^_^)

Our first Xmas shoot almost got called off due to the heavy rain in the late afternoon and luckily it stopped and we decide to proceed on with the shoot. The weather was still cloudly that night and the floor was wet so I have to strap everything on myself. But luckily we managed with some nice shoots before the rain came again (and we were next to shelters).

New Name Cards

It has been quite a while since I printed my social name cards. My last batch was printed in early 2010 and since I have been using handphone to exchange contacts more than name cards.

With domain name registered in late 2011 and coming AFA 12. Its time for a new batch of name cards.

For comrades meeting at coming AFA12, will pass you mind this coming weekend. See you all there ^_^ 

Doll Meet at Fort Canning

Last Saturday our local Dollfie Facebook group gathered for a meet before the largest event for the year - AFA comes. Got a chance to meet up with others whom only known them through the computer screen and seeing everyone in person.

Our meetup ended with a nice dinner at the maid cafe located at Funan centre, and look forward for our next meetup again when AFA comes. Which will meet up with lots of oversea collectors as well ^_^

 

High Above @ Sky Park

While doing the National Day preview shoots in Aug (http://www.slmka.com/2012/06/ndp-2012-rsaf-rsn-rehearsal.html), Mia also tag along with me to Sky Park at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Located on the 55th floor. It offers a great view for Singapore's city view as well as the overall view of Singapore's newest garden - Garden by the Bay.

Plane spotting at Sydney Airport

Syndey Kingsford Smith International Airport is one of my favorite plane spotting spot, with an observation deck located at the end of the International Terminal, departure level. It offers a great view to Runway 16R landing and part of the take-off. I usually spent an hour or two while waiting for my bus or custom check-in.

Mia's First Birthday

NDP 2012 - RSAF / RSN Rehearsal

Before the combine rehearsal beings for NDP 2012. The RSAF and RSN does their own rehearsal on two Wednesday in the morning hours. Which offers better lighting. So we decided to give it a try on the 20th June at the Skypark on top of Marina Bay Sands.

 

5000 Hits

Thank you everyone for the past support to let this blog hits 5000 views. This blog currently is about 1.5 years old, and actually it more like Mia's travel blog rather than mine ^_^|||

This year, with Saber joining the family. We will expect Saber making more appearance as well. In the meantime, I will be starting writing some review of my photograph equipments, as well as some tutorial on doll/toy shooting. Please look forward for that ^_^

New DD Loots

Finally one of the new DD stuffs arrived. With some socks, outfits and most importantly - headphones. Been waiting for this shipment after a hard time trying to get them from Volks website. The site almost came to a total halt when the order opens. But luckily still manage to got mine after.

Little Walk at Bukit Timah

It's been quite a while since Mia and I took another visit to the KTM tracks again. But this time we are not alone. Along with a few members from MLS and their "little followers". We tracked along a small section of the KTM tracks and headed to Singapore Quarry.

Kagami's wedding gown (from Sega Toys) been around for almost 2 months but never have a good chance to bring her out for a shoot with the bad weather on weekends...

Last weekend also didn't fail to rain, but the sky finally cleared up after dark so Kagami got her first shoot at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Disaster - Blogspot with Google+

Warning!!! Be careful when you deal with your images in Google+ when they are from your blog!!!

Recently linked up my Google+ and found it was copying photos from my Android phone along with all my other resources. I did not wish to do that, so I deleted the album from Google+ and resulted I lost all the shoots I uploaded into my blog via Picasa album.

Some read up online and I am not the only victim, some even lost years of photos due to this.

Luckily I still have my local files available. but now I have to went through all the blog entries to ensure all photos are in place...OTL

Mia's first group shoot

Last Satuday we have a mini doll photo shoot from 2 separate FB groups, and Mia along with Kazuki's new daughter ~ Mandoka have enjoyed a great afternoon at Esplanade's roof garden.

New Tinkle Tapestry - C81 Dengeki release

Finally got my Tinkle poster after DHL missed the scheduled delivery time...

Tinkle artwork is really amazing especially using one similar range of colors.

The same character also featured in a few of older Tinkle artworks (also the cover character form their first art book ~ Moonlight Tea Party (Tsukiyono-Chakai)

Wonder when Tinkle will release a new version of the blue side character as well ^_^

iLight Marina - 1st take

The Saturday night was wet and our group shooting with MLS (Ministry of Light and Shadows) did not went as plan.

So we ended with some indoor shoots and Mia was introduced to the MLS members (and a few pass by also ^_^)

This is my 2nd round shooting along with a group, but my flash trigger decided to play  some issues and my attempt of a new flash setup did not work out quite well. Will need to explore again to have both the LED light and flash align properly to have better lighted shoots >_<

It was really small and even armed with a 300mm + 1.4x TC still have some hard time to follow it properly. The movements are so unpredictable when I was trying to shoot it the first time. Amazing flight Tony have performed.

After a long wait I finally have sorted out all the shoots and start uploading them. The first part will consist of all the big birds, Boeing 787 Dreamliner (Z003, N787BX), USAF C-17 and USAF B-52.

Changing of Guards

The Changing of Guards (COG) ceremony are held every 1st Sunday of the month, out Istana, Singapore.

The COG will last for 30mins with new guards marching down Orchard Road along with SAF Band and the Silent Precision Drills Squad (SPDS).

The whole ceremony will last for about 30mins. Don't forget to watch the ceremony when you are in Singapore ^_^

Singapore Airshow 2012 - Part 0

2012 is the year for Singapore Airshow again. This year aerobic features was lesser than 2010 but still equally exciting.

For public visitors, they may feel a bit disappointed as Jacky Chan's plane and B-787 (Z-003) was not on site on the public days. (At least the B-787 waved good bye on Sat). Especially on Sunday the B-52 did not appear in the morning show. And the afternoon show was changed to RSAF display only.

After 3 days of Singapore Airshow I am cooked and ready to eat...

The result: now I have more than 6000 photos to filter out (I suppose only less than 1% will make it out nice)

Records are meant to be broken......my camera gears now holds 18kg in total. Lowepro Pro Runner 450 AW and Inverse 200 supporting these loads =)

This airshow is really testing my max limit...lol

Night Macro at Venus Drive

This is my first night macro, and experience how to shoot and night and look for the small fellows (some are quite huge...) in the dark. It was quite an experience how to spot them and learning from other shooters with their DIY gears.

Having some problem trying to get the AF points on the spot, may be next time will attempt more on MF, and also to work on the balance try not to fall into the bushes sometimes ^_^|||

Today after shooting Singapore Airshow 2012 Sunday practice session I went over to Changi Airport for lunch before heading home.

Since airport always have these weights around, out of curiously I weighted my bag -- 13.2KG!!!

Mia's Changi Beach

Mia took a short afternoon break at Changi Beach, Singapore while I was testing out my 2x Extender Mk II on incoming planes to prepare for upcoming Singapore Airshow.

We ended the day with a footlong meatball at Subway which Mia wish she could finish it =)

Macro at Bukit Chermin Boardwalk

This is my first spider macro. To be the truth, I am not a big fan of macro shooter myself (even I love looking at macro shoots) as I always afraid they may just jump over me. Especially when they appear so huge in the view finder...lol

The shoots were taken at Bukit Chermin Boardwalk, a new 300m along the shore line next Labrador Nature Reserve or a 900m walk from Labrador Circle MRT.

Not sure what is the ID of this spider, but found quite a few along the boardwalk itself as it seems to find the lighting below the hand rails are good spot for their webs =)

Spent almost an hour with about 30 shoots, battling with the sea breeze.

The shoots were taken on a 600D with 100mm L, flash mounted on camera with a whale tail diffuser , shoots are 100% corp.
